Hi Bob

Glad to see that there is going to again be a World Traveller Team (well done 5B/G3VYI, 5Z4VJ, 9G5XA and ZF2CA) and the ZL Quake Contesters are returning again (good on yer ZL2RX, ZL3AB, ZL3GA, ZL4RA and ZL3P).

However, it is a bit disappointing to not apparently see any postings so far about teams from stalwarts in the UK and Canada – hopefully this will happen shortly or I’ve missed the posting! 😉

The two Australian teams are simply chosen from the relative results of the top eight stations who completed in last year’s CC – the top Aussie takes the No. 1 spot in Team 1, the second Aussie takes No. 2 spot, and so on.

If any of these stations are unable to compete or want a break, depending on circumstances, we simply go to the Aussie with the next highest result (i.e. No. 11) or go onto the VKCC contesting reflector and ask for volunteers to fill in the remainder of the team spots.

As Aussies say, “it is as easy as”.

In general we take a national, selective approach here but if there are groups of friends or competitors in other Commonwealth counties who wish to take part as a team, this is equally good to my mind. 😉

Aside from the WRTC competition and the various Field Days, the CC is unique in having a team aspect to it. Let’s keep it healthy.
