Thanks to Stewart and his xyl for hosting me over the weekend at gw6xx. Despite the windy weather it was toasty warm in the cosy shack with the Gemini in run mode. Nice to use a more automated station where the amp and antenna switching followed the k3 on rapid band switching. Dxlog worked well in so2v mode and I got some useful practice switching in the second rx to check the mult spots before switching to work them.My cw was a bit rusty but Stewart had dxlog set up well in esm mode, and I had a nice begali paddle in line for fills and greetings.Well done to g4piq and g3bj for successfully moving me to higher bands for the gw6xx mult, despite my slower cw. Work committements, a big home extension build project, and a home station rebuild, has reduced my contesting activity over the last year. It was nice to have a few hours supporting Stewart in running gw6xx and enjoying a lovely tasty evening meal with a glass of red wine whilst he worked g3sjj and others. As i was driving home on Sunday afternoon, Stewart did the early hours whilst I had a kip, returning to the shack at 0615 for greyline on 40/80 and long path on 20m. Last few hours were spent band hopping and sweeping up the mults whilst still running to help others with our hq mult.Overall an enjoyable contest, with better than expected conditions, and some welcome operating experience after a year off from serious contesting.73Steve gw0gei
