I really enjoy this contest!
I entered 12 hour, HP, Assisted again.
I had the FTdx5000 as the main radio and the IC7300 as radio 2, but, actually, I didn’t find SO2R all that helpful. Probably due to my incompetence at SO2R!
Great fun to work so many VK and ZL stations on 40 and 80, plus the reliable VE stations all over 20m.
No major problems with the station this year. I wound the mast down on Wednesday, due to the winds, but risked winding it back up on Friday. I’m glad I did.
I cobbled together a ‘kind of’ Beverage pointing West in the week leading up to the contest. It proved to be of little or no value. I have super-grid power lines about 1/4 mile away to the West, so I think they were just too noisy.
I fell back on the West EWE, which was quieter.
Only 1 QSO, with Brian, 9J2BO, on 10, because I missed the Saturday opening – I didn’t start until 13:00 (12 hour section).
Thanks, everyone, for the QSOs, especially the HQ stations.
See you all next year!
