Did the WIA stations make a difference?
Can the people with lots of QSO’s have a look to see that, for example, they worked three vk7’s and VK7WIA so that the WIA call made for an extra bonus.
VK7WIA handed out 300 numbers although that will reduce for real contacts as some were dupes and some ineligible. I made a special point to be on when things were open to VK from VK7.
Despite frequent calling I was not able to make a contact on either 10 or 15.
I used SD logger as my N1mm stoutly refused to talk to winkey so I spat a large dummy and downloaded SD just before the contest. I had used it before but was a bit fumble fisted at first.
Apologies to those who had to put up with me doing funny things and sending garbage!!!
Biggest boo boo was being called by Namibia – couldn’t get the call and moved the beam to where I though the signal was – it wasn’t!!!
Fortunately tuning around a bit later I heard him calling CQ with a better signal so got the Q anyway.
One of the hardest contacts was VK3MI weak and in the noise on 20.
73’s and thanks
