I note a rule change in the 2019 event, but not sure if I can operate or not.I operate VY1AAA, in the Yukon Territory of Canada. I’ve made over 25,000 contacts from the station on the last three years. I’m a Canadian Advanced Licensee, as well as a Canadian citizen. That said, I operate the remote from my home in the United States.
Does this preclude me from being a participant in the contest?

Hi Gerry,
These are the mainly new words in the rules….
(ii) Where the operator or operators are NOT situated within the same United Kingdom, Channel Island or Isle of Man DXCC entity or the same Commonwealth Call Area as the station (i.e. the operator(s) are situated anywhere else in the world), all such operations must enter section (c).
A remotely operated station must obey all station licence, operator licence, and category conditions. The callsign used must be one issued or permitted by the Regulatory Authority of the remote station location. The address of the operator must be included in the ‘Address of Operator when operating Remote from Station Address’ box on the Station Information Page and the address of the remote station must be included in the Cabrillo header ‘ADDRESS:’ box. The RSGB HF Contest Committee may place remotely operated stations in a separate results table
Then..
(c) Open, World-wide remote activation of a Commonwealth Call area, Single or multi-operator. Assisted – 12-hour or 24-hour – Maximum legal power – no antenna restrictions.
I think we have created this new remote activation section just for you and others in your position. It was intended for remote operation and is in a special separate section so as not to put folk off from travelling to operate – like Nigel G3TXF who is off somewhere this year (in a plane rather than down an internet cable, hi).
Please enter with the remote station from the Yukon using the new section for your log entry. If you can do 24 hours then that would be great. Perhaps you could confirm with Bob G3PJT who I have copied into the email and he will publicise your operation so that we are looking out for you.
I will running with GB5CC and look forward to plenty of QSOs with you. Let’s hope conditions have improved from this weekend, which has been quite a painful experience in ARRL DX SSB, unlike the CW two weeks ago when conditions were good.
