difficult and I couldn’t try seriously because of other commitments, but got
sucked in and operated for about 10 hours. Missed some stuff to the East on
40 & 80 because of a small TVI issue on those bands and missed some of the
prime time due to family commitments. Short of QSOs and very short of
bonuses on LF as a result.
Had a yagi on HF this year for the first time in many years – although not
that large or high – I’m sure it helped – especially for some of the 10m VE
stuff that seemed to be coming in on scatter over Central / South America,
but my score is not so far different from what I’ve achieved in the past
just using wire dipoles.
Super signals from VK/ZL on 20 this morning, but caught none on 40m at that
time. Great signal from VK6LW on 80 last night, but caught no other VK, and
only ZL2AZ (who had a decent signal) on 80 at dawn. Great to work all the
travellers – but especially to get Nigel on 5 bands.
How did I end up with VY2GQ missing in the log on 40 and VE3EJ missing on
20….
