BERU and Africa contest

Bob,

By coincidence I worked both 9J2BO and ZS1EL on 10m yesterday. In each QSO we discussed BERU and SARL. Brian was ambivalent. He would prefer BERU to stay as it is but recognises the need for change to fend off interloping contests as the sunspots decline. Vidi is more positive, He said BERU is already rather boring from the deep south and anything that increased activity would be welcome. He said the same about Marathon too!

Of course you will want to canvass opinion directly yourself before making any changes, but I was encouraged that these two stalwarts are not up in arms at the prospect.

Team Australia update

G’day everyone
Welcome to Team Australia for the Commonwealth Contest 2015. Brian VK3MI (captain, Team VK2) and I are pleased to welcome new CC team members Rob VK6HG, James VK4TJF, Phil VK6GX and Steve VK7CW.
We are also pleased to welcome back stalwarts Steve VK3TDX, Alan VK4SN and Patrick VK2PN who have moved from last year’s Team 2 (3rd overall in the team comp) into Team 1 (1st overall in the team comp). 
No pressure on the new blokes in Team 1 and Team 2 to repeat last year’s heroics, but this being the centenary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli, Brian and I are sure you will all dig in with true ANZAC spirit and give the rest of the CC teams a bit of a touch-up.     
Rob VK6HG is a bit of an old fox in the Commonwealth Contest stakes, but for James 4TJF, Phil 6GX and Steve 7CW, the name of the game is nailing as many bonus points/stations as possible. If in doubt, ‘search and pounce’ and change bands regularly to find new bonuses.
Good luck to everyone on the 14/15 March (from 1000Z to 1000z), let’s have fun and go hard.
